Today I went to see my new Neurologist. When he came to the hospital and saw me, I was really impessed, today not as much,
First impressions are usually the indicator of things to come. When I hit the door, I had a bad feeling. When I made this appt, they sent me a 6 page package to fill out, I even went as far as designing a form to list meds on and added it to the package. I got it on 5/4/09 and faxed it back that day, complete. Today, I just happened to put in my briefcase, just in case. Well, sure enough, she needed my copies, they could not find hers. Then later she found that they had recieved them.
Anyway, got in the exam room and the Neuro came in. We talked about pain, current meds, legal problems with the POLICE when drving, and how it all works. Guess what, He did not know that driving on these meds is D.U.I. in Tennessee.
He told me in the Hospital that he could handle all the meds. Now, He tells me he wants to send me to Pain Management to handle my meds.
That means, A co-pay for him, a co-pay for the Drug Police ( Pain Management ), and a co-pay for my Primary Provider. So, we are going from one to three, just because, and he admitted it, They are all scared of the STATE OF TENNESSEE. The state is monitoring every script they write in a huge database. If they get on the wrong side of these people, they will be audited until they can no longer practice medicine for the inspectors standing in the halls.
The STATE has placed such a deep fear in the doctors it is unbelieveable. He told me, the STATE is trying to make them unpaid POLICE OFFICERS.
I have been to the circus at Pain Management once before, I would rather have my fingernails removed with a pair of pliers, but it looks like I have no choice.
When I made a comment that I was going to be paying more to everybody, the Neuro said, " you have to do what you have to do ".
Obama is getting to make it all worse with National health care, God help us all.

Oh My God, This woman had 20 GUNS !
I saw this morning on the Drive-By media television program, that a 63 year old lady had been in a standoff with Chattanooga SWAT.
Evidently, there had been a report that she had discharged a gun outside her home, earlier that day. Based on an absence of information, we have to assume she would not "comply" and come outside as "ordered". When she would not comply, Chattanooga SWAT responded to the desperate standoff. After 3 hours and intense negotiation ( I assume ), talks failed and tear gas was shot thru the windows of her home. She then surrendered and complied.
The major story is, she had guns. Not 3, or 5 but 20 ! This is the kicker.
I think it is still legal to own guns. As long as they are not stolen or illegal, you know, altered. I don't know, based on an absence of information, if the guns were left in place or somehow were confiscated. Maybe there will be more info later.
I know a 63 year old is just as dangerous as a 23 year old when pointing a gun at someone. Living on 5th ave, she probably felt she needed the weapons to protect herself. It was publicized in the past year or so that Chattanooga PD had stated they could not protect everyone. Some others even suggested that the public arm themselves. Since President Obama was elected Gun sales have increased over 10%. That turned out to be a stimulus. Maybe the 63 year old lady has invested in these guns to provide stimulus.
How many guns do you have in your house and how many does the Media and Law Enforcement think is too much?

D-Day, Terrorism, and the World we live in.
65 years ago, Allied forces moved onto the beaches of Normandy. Today, many of these heroes are buried beneath the green grass of French soil. All these men, knew how important their contribution was. The did not think of themselves as heroes, just men fighting for the freedom of an oppressed continent. This set into the moition the defeat of Nazi Germany, paved along the way in the blood of Americans.
Today, we face enemies both abroad and on our own soil. These enemies are cowards, cloaked in darkness and faces hidden from view. This is a religious war. A war based on the extreme beliefs of Islamic Terrorists. They have one goal, to kill Americans anywhere, as the opportunity permits. When you fight a force that has no concern for their own survival, based on a concept that death resulting from killing the enemy is a blessing, there is but own fact. Kill them before they kill you. These is no debate, no reaching out. All that will come from attempting to communicate is an ambush.
President Bush knew this fact. For 7 years, he prevented any American blood to be spilled on our soil. His efforts, the brave efforts of our military, resulted in alot of Terrorist acheiving their goal of death. This is the facts. We are at war. No amount of feel good will prevent another attack. We need to go into Afghanistan with the assumption that everyone is a terrorist. As the old Marine Corp T-shirt says, "Kill them all, Let God sort them out."
I fear we are being lulled into a deep false sense of security. President Obama honestly believes that after his series of "addresses" to the Muslim world, we can rest easy. Wrong....
These people, and I use that term loosely, believe that he is weak. The next grand plan is probably being developed while Obama goes out on date night with Michelle. By the way, their last getaway to New York cost taxpayers more than $ 100.000.
We cannot rest, dreaming that Obama is going to somehow make nice with everyone. I hope and pray somewhere in the Pentagon, some rogue general is paying attention and planning very large strikes in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Yemen, Somalia, N. Korea, Indonesia, and any other country that is a threat to the United States of America.
Afghanistan and Iran can become lakes for all I care, glowing at night for the next 1,000 years.
Come on folks, lets all support strength. I would much rather be feared than loved in the Islamic World.
Good Day and Godspeed, Mitch

Memorial Day, True friends vs families
Well, It's Memorial Day, 2009. It's just Deanna and I today. I am tired, just plain tired.
On another sad note, I just called a dear friend of 30 years in Maryville, TN. His name is Dan Neubert. He was a Blount Sheriff's Office Road Sargent for many years. He is in his mid 70's now. He had a minor heart attack 2 years ago. He is very overweight, and is on oxygen. He lost his wife of over 50 years 3 years ago and has 1 daughter and 1 son. When I called him he said he had been sitting at home alone all day. No invites from the kids to come BBQ, etc. His son never comes to see him. If an emergency comes up, he is the first one there, but doesn't spend time with his dad just to spend time. Dan and Wilma lost a child at birth almost to the day I was born. I have know Dan forever, his sister in law was my Cub Scout Den Mother. When I worked at the Highway Patrol, I would get off shift and then ride with Dan. In 1980, Dan had lost his job at the SO under false circumstances. I was running an Exxon Station for my Dad in Maryville at the time and Deanna worked with me. We were in line at Kmart and Dan and Wilma was in front of us. I spoke to him and realized who he was and that we were still close. We stepped outside and I found out he was out of a job and their backs were against the wall. I hired Dan on the spot. Later he told me that it was an act of God. They had no food in the house, almost out of Gas, and were ready to lose their home.
Anyway, It was God at work. Today, Dan was so happy to hear from me, he always calls me his Son. Dan introduced me to Freemasonry. He paitently taught me my Degree work and has always been behind me. I am proud to call him a Brother as a Mason, But he is truly like a Father.
His kids don't know what they are missing out on. I vow to start calling him at least three times a week, just to let him know I am out here. My wife Deanna, thinks there is no better friend or Man than Dan Neubert Sr. That is true.
He was tired of sitting in the house today, waiting for someone to come. He told me he called his sister and asked if he bought the steaks, would she cook them, he was ready to go out the door oxygen bottle and all.
I guess times have changed, I remember gatherings at my Grandparent's home. It did not even have to be a special occasion. Just all the family would gather, bring something, like me Aunt Francis's Chocolate Cake. We would all, probably 25, just be together for the sake of being together. Both my Grandparents are gone now, the last in 1990. The family has not gotten together since, except at Funerals. Of course there is the we have got to get together remarks, but no one does it. Families today, at least Deanna and mine, does not know what they are missing.
We had a home on Altura Dr here on Signal Mountain that burned down in 2000. We tried to have a weekly dinner. Nothing special, just everyone sit down together and share a meal. After a few weeks, there were reasons one or the other couldn't be there and finally we gave up.
I guess that is enough self pity for one day. I hope everyone out there had a great Memorial Day and remembered the reason for this Holiday. To honor those who given their lives for their country. At their homes there is an empty chair that will never be filled. I hope their families made the most of the times they had available with this loved one, it was precious.
After North Korea set off their Nuclear Weapon today, I also hope it turns on some light bulbs in peoples heads about how fragile our lives really are.
All the Best, and with the best intentions

What happened to my spelling
I apologize for the extreme spelling errors on my last post. that usually happens when the mind is moving faster than the fingers. I hope everyone can translate.
Have a good Day, gotta wait for 2 cable techs and a customer satisfaction specialist to arrive at one. I wrote a pretty srong letter to the Chattanoogan and low and behold, they will be here to correct all problems and give me a yearly rate. The pen is mightier than the sword.
Good Day, MT
